PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
Broad Objective
- To strengthen Tanzania’s capacity to prevent, prepare, respond and recover from public health emergencies/threats/disasters and provide epidemiologic and laboratory technical support in communicable and non-communicable diseases on surveillance, diagnosis, treatment and disease-monitoring
Specific Objectives
Strengthening capacity of health workers at national and subnational levels in basic, intermediate and advanced epidemiological knowledge and skills
Providing skilled laboratory managers for health-related laboratories
Building, strengthening and evaluating public health surveillance systems
Conducting applied research activities in priority public health problems and threats
Improving professional communications and networking within and beyond Tanzania
